Frequently Asked Questions

I’ve heard there’s a change to the Zelle® app. What is happening?

More than 2,200 banks and credit unions across the U.S. now offer Zelle® through their mobile app or online banking site. As a result of this growth, in October of 2024, we announced that we are removing the ability for users to send or receive money using the Zelle® app starting April 1, 2025.

If you use the standalone Zelle® app, you should have received messaging about this change through various emails and in-app notifications. To continue using Zelle®, all standalone app users must enroll through one of the more than 2,200 banks and credit unions that offer Zelle® through their mobile app.

If you are a standalone Zelle® app user and previously received money from someone through Zelle®, you may need to let them know that you won’t be able to receive payments until you enroll with a bank or credit union that offers Zelle®.

To see if your bank or credit union offers Zelle®, please visit https://enroll.zellepay.com.

If you’re already using Zelle® within your mobile banking app, then there are no changes, and you do not need to take any action.

For more information, please visit our announcement from October.
